Iowa Supports BVL

Iowa State USBC WBA

Members of the Iowa State USBC WBA, under the direction of Connie Rommel, Chair of the Iowa State USBC BVL Committee, decided they needed to step up their efforts on behalf of BVL and the veterans we serve.

So, in addition to the donations they were collecting at their annual meeting workshop, and those from a raffle for a bowling ball with an Americana theme during their state tournament, and fines accumulated during their state tournament check in for those bowlers who could not present their USBC membership card, they wanted to do something more for BVL…

This past year, the Iowa State USBC WBA initiated a new Mail-O-Graphic tournament during the week of Veterans Day to benefit our hospitalized veterans. They promoted this event at their summer workshop, annual meeting and on their website. Their efforts paid off as they received almost 950 entries in their inaugural year generating more than $1,800.00 for our veterans!

Association Manager Charla Green notes, “We are glad to inform you that we will continue our “new” tradition of hosting our mail-o-graphic tournament for the benefit of BVL.”
