68th Annual BVL/VA Bowling Tournament

Fact Sheet

 

1. Open to all veterans registered as an in-patient or outpatient at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Centers or currently participating in a program at one of the Vet Centers nationwide.

2. Held annually each spring over a four-week period since 1946.

3. Nine divisions separate teams based on affiliation, facility size, age and physical limitations of participants.

4. Team event, with 45 games total bowled by up to five regular team members and three alternates.

5. Rules are according to the United States Bowling Congress.

6. Each team member will receive a certificate of participation; trophies will be awarded to the top three teams in each division.

The tournament is coordinated locally at the VAMC’s by the Chief of Recreation Therapy Services or the Chief of Voluntary Services. At the Vet Centers, the contact is the Vet Center Team Leader.

Local volunteers are welcomed! Volunteers can provide transportation, scoring, refreshments and fun!
