About Johnny Joey Jones

Born in Dalton, Georgia, Joey Jones enlisted in the Marines right out of high school. On his eighth deployment, this time in Afghanistan, where he served as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal man, he disarmed more than 80 improvised explosive devices (bombs), Joey found himself on the wrong side of an IED. On August 6, 2010 Joey was struck by an IED, resulting in the loss of both of his legs above the knee and severe damage to his right forearm and both wrists.
