| George participated in battles in France during World War II, moving into Normandy five days after D-Day. He received many honors, including the Purple Heart (bullet went into his helmet!) and a Bronze Star for bravery. Since 1995, has has been battling cancer with the same courage and determination he exhibited while in the service . He continues to bowl when not suffering from the effects of chemotherapy. | |||||
