| He's special because, well, he's my Dad but also because he was very proud of his years of service in the U.S. Navy in World War II. After his years of service were over he went to USC to get his pharmacutical license and practiced for many years as a local pharmacist. | |||||

| Tim and his best friend, Tim Moore enlisted in the U.S. Navy April 18, 1975, immediately following graduation from Junipero Serra High School, Gardena, California.
He served our military well. In 1975 he advanced from Seaman Recruit to Seaman Apprentice to Yeoman Seaman Apprentice. In 1976 he was awarded Yeoman Seaman & Yeoman 3-Class in 1977; Yeoman 2-Class 1978; Yeoman 1-Class 1981. Tim was assigned to Atsugi, Japan for over three years and was attached to the helicopter detail aboard the U.S.S. Oklahoma, the Flagship to the Seven Fleets. After returning stateside, Tim attended 2-Class Dive School & became a 2-Class Diver 1984; 1-Class Dive School, advancing to 1-Class Diver in 1987 and earned the rank of Chief Petty Officer (DV). In 1991 he attended and graduated from the Instructor Training Dive School. His Navy Service Ribbons include Navy Recruiting Service Ribbon; Sea Service Deployment Ribbon; Southwest Asia Service Medal with Bronze Star; National Defense Service Medal; Good Conduct Ribbon with Three Bronze Stars; Navy "E" Ribbon with Two Bronze Stars; Meritorious Unit Commendation with Bronze Star; Navy Achievement Medal. With 20-Years of service, Tim retired as Yeoman Chief (DV) on June 28, l995. Having spent much of his free time of retired life working with youngsters, mostly in the game of soccer, Tim was a wonderful candidate for his current job as Contract Coordinator for the students who enroll at San Diego State University. I proudly present this donation of $50.00 on behalf of my son Tim, who will celebrate his "50th Birthday" on June 1, 2006. |
